About us
We are a smaller centre of 29 places with the best team of passionate educators who understand the importance of children's early years and providing educational experiences within a safe and nurturing environment. The centre has been formulated to provide world class early education in a smaller nurtured setting.
Our Story
Astra Academy was founded by 2 sisters who came together to bring a change to the childcare industry. Having a combined 5 children of our own, we understand as mothers and parents what children need. Over the years we saw practices used at childcare centres which we struggled with our own children and just didn't work. For many of our children we were left having to keep them at home because the industry didn't understand our child. So we set forth on a mission to look for improvements that can be made which make a child feel truly connected and safe.
Seeing that child at a centre with unwiped boogies dripping down their nose. Or the child who would cry inconsolably alone in the corner. We really felt the industry was becoming way too commercialised and needed a change.
We have created a service that encourages parents to be involved, to stay with their children a little extra longer if they feel they need to. A centre which doesn't leave a child crying when their parents leave them or they go through moments of anxiety. A centre that treat each child like their own. The more comfortable a child is in his/her environment the more learning experiences that child will have and will thrive.
Our mission was to create an environment that was not just impressive for parents to look at with poor practices inside. But an environment which made the child feel loved, included, safe and inspired.
